Consulting Programs

Austral Education organizes Consulting Programs where student teams interact with senior-level executives located in foreign markets that focus on specific business opportunities or challenges that companies are facing.

These engagements guarantee high levels of experiential learning and interactions for students and are a fundamental complement to international business modules taught by professors. Companies benefit from having the collective experience from the student teams and faculty leaders to solve their challenges.

This experience requires 2 - 6 months of student project work and engagement with the companies.

Let's see how it works:

PHASE 1

Consulting Program Structure Design

Austral Education Specialists will discuss and design the optimal program structure for faculty, students and companies including:

  • Number of hours dedicated to project work
  • Any industry/country/discipline-specific focus
  • Additional specialist speaker sessions to complement consulting work
  • Project timeline
  • Level of engagement by faculty and Austral Education
  • Consulting delivery format for the companies: live presentations, written reports among others

PHASE 2

Project Sourcing and Selection

  • Austral Education team shares the collaboration opportunity with our network of partner companies
  • Companies submit projects on Austral Education platform
  • University selects a shortlist of preferred projects on Austral Education platform
  • Selected companies agree to participate in the program
  • Kick-off calls are organized between University faculty members and each company project leader to discuss project scopes, industry-relevant information, company/faculty expectations and student deliverables

PHASE 3

Student Team Designation and Project Assignment

Prior to meeting the company project leader, companies will share an information package to students containing:

  • Company information (financial and sales data, pitch deck, etc.)
  • Company project leaders bios
  • Project description and objectives
  • Project communication timeline
  • Template with milestones to be agreed and signed between student team and Company

PHASE 4

Company/Student Introductions

  • Student teams are introduced to company project leaders via Austral Education Slack/Zoom
  • Company, student teams and faculty can participate in the communication platform, maintaining accessibility and transparency
  • Austral Education staff member available to support each project team

PHASE 5

Student teams and Companies work on their project

  • Austral Education staff member will be available to assist and support each team for the duration of the program
  • Austral Education Specialists will follow up on the project progress and review it with faculty members and companies. If needed we will assist with re-evaluating milestones

PHASE 6

Presentation of Results

  • Students team will be expected to present their work and suggestions to the company (in-person or online, depending on the program) followed by a Q&A session
  • Projects that also require a more in-depth written report, will have the report delivered following the final presentation and once feedback has been incorporated
  • Written evaluation of student work provided by company project leaders
